Private Tutor Resume Template
For a private tutor resume, we recommend Education Approachable: Calm, readable serif with a soft green accent — built for teaching, academic support, and education roles.
Why this template fits a private tutor resume
A private tutor resume needs to prove measurable academic improvement for the specific student, not generic instruction — Education Approachable keeps the focus on that with a clean accent-bar section style that reads clearly to both a hiring manager and the ATS software screening for Subject-matter expertise and Individualized lesson planning.
All 25 Rezumz templates are single-column and ATS-safe by default — this one is just the best starting point for this specific field. You can switch templates any time while editing.
What to put in the template
Order the sections as summary, work experience, skills, then education and certifications. Put your most recent and most relevant role first. Keep it to one page unless you have a long career.
Skills to fill into the skills section
Must-have: Subject-matter expertise, Individualized lesson planning, Progress assessment, Parent/student communication, Patience and adaptability.
If you have them: Teaching certification, Standardized test-prep experience, Learning-difference experience (dyslexia, ADHD).
Example bullet points to copy the shape of
- Tutored 10+ students in math and science, with 8 improving by at least one full letter grade within a semester
- Designed individualized study plans for SAT prep that raised average student scores by 150 points
- Maintained a 90% client-retention rate across a 2-year period through consistent, measurable results
Replace the figures with your own. The layout does the formatting, but the bullets do the convincing.
Does the template matter to an ATS?
Less than people think. Every Rezumz template is single-column with real text, so applicant tracking systems read it correctly. What matters more is that the keywords above appear in your skills and in your bullets.
