Resume Bullet Point Checker
Paste your bullet points and see which ones are doing their job. Each gets a score and a plain tip: a stronger verb, a number, a shorter line.
What makes a resume bullet work
A good bullet says what you did, with a verb that names the action, and shows the scale or the result. "Reduced invoice processing time by 40% by automating approvals for a team of 12" tells the reader what changed because you were there. "Responsible for invoices" tells them where you stood.
The checker looks at six things: how the bullet starts (a weak opener such as "responsible for" or "helped with", a personal pronoun, or an -ing verb), whether it has a number, size or result, how long it is, whether it reads as passive, and whether it leans on stock phrases like "team player" or "detail-oriented".
How the score works
Every bullet starts at 100. A weak opener costs 25 points, a missing number or result 15, a pronoun start 15, a bullet that is too short or too long 15, and a passive or stock-phrase problem a few points each. The page average is a quick read on the whole section.
It judges the writing, not the truth. It cannot know what you did, and it will never suggest adding a number you don't have. If you can't give a figure, describe the scale instead: the size of the team, the number of clients, the length of the project.

Fixing a weak bullet
Take the part you actually did and lead with it: "Responsible for handling customer emails" becomes "Answered 60 customer emails a day and cut average reply time to under 3 hours" only if those facts are true. If you don't remember them, find them: ticket systems, old reports and performance reviews usually hold the numbers.
Rewrite the weak ones, honestly
Describe what you actually did in plain words and get stronger options back, without invented numbers. Then check the whole resume against a real job.
Questions
Do I need a number in every bullet?
No. A number in about half your bullets is a good target. Use scale or outcome where a figure isn't natural, and don't invent one.
Is a low score bad?
It means the bullet could say more, not that it is wrong. A short bullet that names a clear action and result can score well; a long one full of stock phrases will not.
Does it rewrite my bullets?
No: it only points out what to fix. The Resume Bullet Generator can suggest rewrites from a plain description of what you did, and it won't invent numbers.
Is this the same as an ATS check?
No. This checks the writing of your bullets. For a check of the whole resume (format, keywords, structure) use the free Resume Checker.
