How to Write a Career Profile You Can Reuse Everywhere
A career profile is a single, standing record of who you are professionally: a headline, a short summary, your key skills and three to five highlights with results. Write it once and reuse it as the starting point for every resume, cover letter and message.
Start with a headline
One line: your role, your specialism, and, if relevant, your level. "Product designer focused on B2B tools" says more than "Creative professional".
Write a three-sentence summary
Who you are, what you're best at, and what you're looking for. Avoid adjectives you can't back up.
List key skills
Pick the skills you want to be hired for and can demonstrate. Group them if there are many.
Add career highlights with results
Choose three to five achievements. Use the pattern action, scope, result: "Redesigned onboarding for 40,000 users, raising activation by 12%." If you don't have exact numbers, describe the outcome honestly instead of inventing one.
How to use it
Copy from it when you tailor a resume, write a cover letter or message a recruiter. Update it after each project, not only when you're job hunting.
In Rezumz
Your Career Profile page holds these in one place, so a quick reference is always at hand while you tailor documents.
Frequently asked questions
Is a career profile the same as a resume?
No. A resume is tailored per job. A career profile is the master record you tailor from.
How often should I update it?
After any significant project or change, so you don't have to remember details later.
Should I include everything?
No. Keep the strongest, most relevant highlights and trim the rest.
